The vision was clear from the beginning, eliminating the concept of learning poverty in the Arab world. So, in 2018, Dr. Munira Jamjoom, Fouad Al-Farhan, and Nalia Al-Khalawi, who had previously worked on a previous project under the name Educational Emkan, came together to create a roadmap towards creating an integrated educational platform that serves the modern educational sector and contributes to the professional development of teachers.

An inspiring story from beginnings to growth

Aanaab is a digital platform for teachers and educators, certified by the National eLearning Center in Saudi Arabia. It provides online courses to help raise the efficiency and quality of teachers and educators. With only three courses, The growth mindset, preparation of educational tools, and modern teaching technologies, the need for asynchronous material for teachers was evident. Within three weeks from the start, they reached 15000+ enrolments.

How Aanaab Planned Its Expansion?

In 2020, Aanaab decided it was time for expansion After the funding it obtained from the pre-seed investment round. And the platform for Aanaab does not serve their aspirations and their future orientation, and the capabilities of the platform were very limited. So. They contacted Squadio to hire a tech team to build a platform with new features and an updated look and feel for their brand. Immediately, the technical needs of the Aanaab were identified, and the experienced Squadio team built the technical team for the Aanab to support them in their new future.
The real challenge was that migration to the new platform had to be smooth, without affecting the users within six months.

Squadio dedicated a squad of seven tech talents to do the following:

The squad started with a gap analysis to identify the current status of the platform، and the gaps that needed to be enhanced and changed, like the logic and security of the processes, followed by market research for the market trends in the education sector.
One of the main challenges was ensuring a smooth data migration without interrupting users’ progress and experience.
The squad launched the New Aanaab within 6 months after migrating 40K users, and 38 Courses, and Mapped 73k enrolments to map which students enrolled in which courses and their statuses.

Aanaab has been selected as one of the most impactful and scalable innovations in education by HudredEd a global not-for-profit organization that works closely with the World Bank on raising the quality of education for every child through supporting education innovations of impact globally.
Aanaab was selected from a short list of 173 innovations and a database of more than 3000+ solutions. 194 members reviewed the solution and recognized the importance of what we do and how we do it.
Aanaab will be featured in the 2023 hundred innovations in Education, and be connected to a global network of educational innovations and funders, Aanaab is also invited to the Annual Summit in Helsinki this 26-28 October as we have two seats for their team members.
